The Wild Artist Residency was initiated by YoungProduce in 2023 as an experimental residency for emerging artists across China. Through an open call, four artists aged 18–35 were invited to Dali, Yunnan, to live and create together while exploring new possibilities between art and everyday life.

Rather than treating a residency simply as a space for producing finished work, the project focused on the relationships that form around the creative process — between artists, place, daily routines and unexpected encounters. It offered participants the time and space to exchange perspectives, experiment freely and reconsider how life itself can become part of artistic practice.
